How it all began…

Welcome to Pretty Glam Creations, thank you so much for visiting my shop. My name is Katelyn and I am the proud creator and owner of this small personalized gifts business located in Kerry, Ireland. 

Coming from a family of mostly teachers, I was always thought to have the same desire to become a teacher one day be it playschool, primary or secondary. When I was facing towards the end of my secondary school years and preparing myself for the dreaded leaving cert, I was always asked the same question that most people get asked “What do you think you’ll go to college and do” and me being be and an over thinker I worried more about the fact that I had no idea what I wanted to do. I always loved biology and had a bit of interest in nursing so I decided I would put down nursing and midwifery on my CAO. I got my results in August 2019, I had been accepted to UCC for nursing and I was very happy to have gotten a place but something was telling me not to accept it straight away. So I decided to take a year out and see how I felt after the year. As we all know March 2020, Covid hit and it hit the hospitals hard and I just knew my choice to not accept nursing was a blessing in disguise. So I continued on working in and out of lockdowns not really knowing what was next for me. Then in May 2021, we were just starting to come out of the third and final lockdown, I decided to purchase a cricut machine and see what it was about. A year on and I never would have believed you if you told me I would now be selling and sending personalized gifts and creations all around Ireland and even around the world.

I never had any intentions of becoming an entrepreneur or owning my own business but I honestly couldn’t imagine my life without it right now. My main intention for setting up the business was due to the fact I can never find anything with my name on it or at least it doesn’t have the right spelling so I wanted to personalize some pieces for myself. But ever since starting this business I have come across so many people who have the same problem, so I love the fact that now they can come to me and purchase so many gifts that can be customized especially for them.

I am now also creating bespoke signage for weddings and occasions which I absolutely love. It’s so nice to be a small part of someone’s big day and to create a small special memory for them.

I have so much more love and ideas to offer and instill into Pretty Glam Creations and I can’t wait to do so. I hope you are as excited as me and thank you so much for joining in on my journey.
